In a unique alliance, members of the Aurum Network announced a partnership with Anthony's Pier 4 Restaurant whereby Aurum member chefs learn how to prepare items from Anthony's Pier 4 menu and offer the items to the residents of their facilities.
The program developed in response to a recent survey that indicated meals are a key ingredient to resident satisfaction and well being. "Food rated very high at all of our facilities," according to Kathryn Melendy, "but we are always looking to provide innovative programs for our residents."
After much planning and preparation, a gala "lobster bisque" kick-off took place on August 10, 2000 at various Aurum facilities around the state.
Judging from the positive response received from the residents, there will be more "Anthony's Pier 4 Nights" scheduled with items such as sake poached salmon, baked stuffed sole, fish chowder and Indian pudding featured.
